Theme: Ubuntu: Different Cultures, One People?

   The International Programmes Office will hold its annual International Week from 24th February to 29th February 2020. This is to showcase the university's                     internationalization efforts and to give our international students and faculty the opportunity to share their universities and home countries with the university                   community.


  The Office of International Programmes invites everyone to be part of this celebration. Kindly find below the programme outline and a flyer attached.

   International Week Celebrations Programmes Outline

   Day 1: Monday 24th February 2020


   We begin iWeek2020 with a launch and a keynote address on the theme along with social interaction at International House. Leave your phones behind, engage and            make new friends over snacks and a slideshow of Global Legon.

  Day 2: Tuesday 25th February, 2020


  Study Abroad Clinic

Students who want to know about Study Abroad Programmes facilitated by IPO can visit the Study Abroad team to ask questions, learn about applications and meet former Study Abroad students. The Study Abroad Clinic will run throughout the week. Ask for the daily schedule.

Motion: The #MeToo movement has been the best approach to addressing sexual harassment issues.

Open mic night

Student performances, ranging from dances, raps, poetry, among others and a competitive group charades session. Popcorn and drinks will be served.

Movie Show

Movie selection:  Popcorn and drinks served.

Time: 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Day 5: Friday 28th February 2020

Pose like a Royal 

Try on royal Ghanaian Traditional Clothes from across the cultural regions and take memorable pictures.

Global Cuisine and Performances

Sample dishes from over 15 countries. Learn new recipes from our International Week chefs. Curate a virtual cookbook. Watch different dances and music from students from around the world.

Day 6: Saturday 29th March, 2020

Fun Trip

A day trip to help you unwind and relax. Ask for the schedule.

All students interested in participating in the Karaoke & Charades night, Dance competition, Games and Global Cuisine should send an email to Princess Brown at nspipv@ug.edu.gh. All international students - visiting and regular - interested in participating in any of the events should sign up at the International Programme Office at Room F1 or G3.
