Mrs. Barbara Kuukua Blankson is the Senior Assistant Registrar in the International Programmes Office (IPO), University of Ghana. She is a senior administrator providing administrative and operational support to the Dean of International Programmes and overseeing the general administrative management of IPO. She supervises the work of all senior and junior staff of the Office and ensures provision of excellent support services/pastoral care for all categories of international students. She also ensures that IPO provides the needed support to units in the University as they seek to engage external partners.

Mrs. Blankson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Geography with first-class honors and a Master of Arts degree (with research) in Geography and Rural Development, both from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana. She has over ten years’ experience in administration at a senior level in both public and private institutions. She is also an IREX-UASP Fellow and former Secretary and Vice-President of the University of Ghana branch of the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA).

Mrs. Blankson is passionate about internationalisation and firmly believes that higher education has evolved globally to include strategic partnerships that encourage inclusiveness of external/global stakeholders to enhance teaching, research and extension services of universities. She is committed to supporting the Dean of International Programmes to introduce innovative initiatives to engage external partners of the University while ensuring the welfare and smooth assimilation of international students into the University of Ghana community. She believes in the promotion of internationalisation to enhance provision and access to a higher education that develops globally minded graduates and faculty who can solve emerging challenges that confront the world.
