Dear Colleagues, students, partners and friends of UG in the US:
It is with a heavy heart that we in Ghana have witnessed the events in the U.S over the last week.
I mourn with the families and loved ones of George Floyd. I am especially saddened by the disproportionate levels of violence that black and brown people continue to experience. And I also share in your grief about the violence being suffered as people have acted on their constitutional rights to express themselves.
I know that you must be emotionally exhausted, many of you are anxious and afraid; please know that my prayers are with you for your safety.
