Organic Geochemistry

This information is for second semester 2017/2018 academic year

Teacher responsible

Dr. Patrick Asamoah Sakyi

Availability

This course is available open to all visiting students but only as a second semester course.

Course Content

This course introduces students to the theory, practice, and methods of organic geochemistry and organic biogeochemistry. The primary focus of the course will be on the sources, distributions and fates or organic matter in geological environments (sediments, waters and soils). The course is mainly to discuss the applications of these distributions to paleoenvironmental reconstructions and geomicrobial processes effecting organic matter distributions in these environments.

Teaching

The course will delivered through lectures, exercises and assignments.

Formative Coursework

The course is made up of Interim Assessment, Assignments and Final Examination.
